NG9‑1‑1 Service Availability
NG9‑1‑1 upgrades can only be made in provinces and territories that have enhanced 9‑1‑1:
- BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI have enhanced 9‑1‑1 currently and will be transitioned to NG9‑1‑1 by March 2027.
- Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and some areas of BC (Northern Rockies Regional Municipality and Prince Rupert) have Basic 9‑1‑1 and will not be transitioned to NG9‑1‑1 in 2027. The timing of this transition will be announced at a later date.
- Nunavut does not have 9‑1‑1 service and emergency services are contacted using a normal telephone number.

RTT9‑1‑1 Availability
RTT9‑1‑1 is still in the planning phases, and is not yet available in Canada.
